At Rockdale Cares, we offer a variety of services and activities designed to both educate and entertain our clients. Services offered include:
- Advocacy - Rockdale Cares works with local and state legislators to ensure that the rights and needs of mentally challenged citizens in Rockdale County are protected.
- Respite at Our Place - Provides a much needed break for families and care givers of mentally challenged citizens. Conducted the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Saturday of each month.
- Adult Day Program at Our Place, in partnership with Georgia Community Support & Solutions
- Social Opportunites - Rockdale Cares sponsors themed dinner dances, picnics, and holiday events designed to allow our clients the opportunity to meet others and just have FUN!
- Educational Meetings
- Community Events - Every year Rockdale Cares participates in the Conyers Christmas Parade. This not only gives our clients an opportunity to ride on a float and hand out candy, but it also serves as a way for us to raise public awareness about Rockdale Cares and about the needs of the mentally challenged in our community.
- Horticulture Therapy - Our clients maintain a greenhouse program that allows them an opportunity to grow and nuture a variety of plants and vegetables. These plants are available for purchase through Rockdale Cares.
- Housing - Rockdale Cares operates two homes for the mentally challenged.
