Rockdale Cares has broken ground on a Respite Care Home. This home will provide the families and caregivers temporary relief from the sometimes overwhelming demands of providing constant care for their loved one. There are no facilities of this type in our area. This is a desperate need.
The Respite Care Home will be located in the Lighthouse Village on Sigman Road. The home will have five well-appointed bedrooms each with its own private bathroom. The staff will provide meals, group entertainment, and supervised outings such as trips to the movies, bowling, and meals at local restaurants.
Thanks to a generous land donation from Smyrna Presbyterian Church, and with help from Habitat for Humanity, our goal is within reach. But we still need to pay for the building, the furnishings, and the operation of the Respite Care Home.
Rockdale Cares can use any donations for the Respite Care Home, such as building materials, furnishings, linens, and of course, cash donations.
